Is there a better time of year to not have sports to watch though? At least it’s summer and we can enjoy the outdoors and spend time traveling and having fun. Also, I love how our standards have changed. Crushed when none of our teams win it all, but we don’t really seem to care that every team made it to the playoffs in their respective sports (not including the Pats, but really they were robbed). Talk about shifting goals.

There is a big difference when you support a team that is just terrible, example: the craptacular Washington Nationals, then a team on the verge of all-time greatness. Its similar to losing a game against someone you know you probably won't beat, compared to losing to someone you know you should have owned. The latter is much more crushing. But, I do agree that times have changed since just a few years ago.
